Hello & Welcome to our website.
This page is an introduction to ourselves & what we are about.
The Millom Bike Group was founded on the 19th April 2004 by myself & Alan who are keen motor-cyclists, we decided there were a lot of bikers in and around the local area, but didn't know who they were & decided to change that. So after handing out a few flyers to local shops and spreading the word to the few bikers we did know, we were soon getting a little interest. We then had to find a venue with which to hold the initial meeting, this problem was soon solved when the landlord of the CASTLE in Millom, Jules who is also a motorcyclist, gave us free use of his function room to hold meetings. On the night of the first meeting myself & Alan were sat in the Castle wondering if anyone would turn up, we were not dissapointed, as people started turning up we soon realised that the small function room was going to be too small to fit everyone in, so Jules gave us use of his main bar area to have the meeting (to which the local regulars were very understanding, to whom we thank).
In total 40 bikers turned up to the initial meeting, where we chatted about our different bikes & got to know each other, and decided on the future of the club. It was decided by majority that we didn't want to be a club with committees and subscriptions to pay, so the MILLOM BIKE GROUP was formed.
Our members consist of Male & female bikers, all age ranges, and the members bikes vary from trail bikes, Tourer's, Classic's, Commuters & Sport's bikes.
We have monthly meeting's on the first MONDAY of the Month at the KNIGHTS PUB,MILLOM,CUMBRIA, and ride-outs most Sundays (weather permitting).
We will be holding social events throughout the year, to include Go-Karting,Wheelie School day, track days & other events.
We organise charity events for our given charity which is the GREAT-NORTH AIR AMBULANCE which do a great job in and around the area we live & the area's we ride and is mostly public funded.
On the 15th August 2005 it was decided that we would officially affiliate our club to the BMF in order for the club to progress.
